Flare Gun, 1994

Great 12" from Merzbow, Track #3 was recorded live at "Sound as Weapon", SHOWBOAT, Tokyo, July 5 1994.

A1
Flare Gun (Part 1)
A2
Flare Gun (Part 2)
B
Flare Gun (Part 3)
This is the holy grail of all Merzbow releases. With more analog feedback than a Steve Albini record and more tape loops than some hilarious joke about tape loops (sounding more like electronics than random junk this time), this could very well define the genre of harsh noise. And the B side is arguably the greatest thing Merzbow has ever recorded: This defines "walls of noise": chaotic, feedback laden madness with a truly spectacular vocal performance by Bara (of Venereology fame!). If you have even a remote interest in noise, track down this beast.

Venereology, 1994

Some of his better known harsh work. "I Lead You Towards Glorious Times" is a live excerpt from 1994 (which features his old live lineup Azuma and Kimoto and Sakaibara (Bara)).

The most extreme recording you will ever own! Unbelievably harsh electronic sickness from the undisputed king of Japanese noise!

Batztoutai With Material Gadgets, 2004/1994/1993

Ok, this album made it to three releases until today, all of them on RRRecords (there is a half-official version arround but withouth CAT# or anything... you could make it 4 ;)). In 1993, first released in a plastic box - one year later to the 10th anniversary of RRRecords again in a box but this time with a yellow cover. The latest rerelease of it was a japanese digipak edition of it with a new artwork. Note: All editions got the same tracks.

CD1 is a re-create version of "Batztoutai With Memorial Gagdgets" released on vinyl as RRR-004.
CD2 are cut-ups from various records.

Classic analogue noise from THE master of Japanese Noise. Subtitled "De-Composed Works 1985-86", this is a remixed version of an earlier release of these recordings, with a second disc of cut-ups from various records. Very similar to early period (79-85) Merzbow.
